Hoshi Sushi: The Urban 515 Roll

Earlier this week, the Urban 515 team paid a visit to our friend La at Hoshi Sushi in the Drake area. He’s adding a new sushi roll to his menu: The Urban

Chef La Tran sharing some sushi-making secrets with us.

Roll. Inspired by all our favorites from the recent DSM: SushiBomb event, he set about creating his largest, most ambitious roll yet. We got to take a peek at the creative process, as well as learn some tricks of the trade, but we weren’t allowed to know what the end product would be. Chef La likes to keep people guessing. For him, sushi-making is all about creativity and the element of surprise. Curious how it all turned out? Watch the video!

The Making of the Urban Roll

Even though this was the biggest sushi roll any of us had ever seen, we had no trouble putting it away. Our mouths were watering by the time we were done watching him put everything together. It looked beautiful, smelled incredible and tasted even better than we could have expected. Sushi truly is an art.
