Learn to Make Sushi Like a Pro

This could be you!

The art of making sushi has been around for centuries, but it has only gained popularity in Des Moines within the last 15 years or so. However, it has quickly gained recognition as a sophisticated, delicious option for dining out on the town. Wouldn’t you love to impress your friends and family the next time they’re over for dinner by serving your own handmade sushi?

Now’s your chance to learn the art of sushi making from the “Godfather of Des Moines Sushi” himself! Chef La Tran has trained sushi chefs at some of the most popular sushi restaurants in the area. He recently opened Hoshi Sushi Lounge – a member of the Urban 515 local business alliance – and is offering a one-time, exclusive sushi rolling class to the public.

Participants will get one-on-one time with La, their own sushi rolling mat and knife to keep, and a meal for the day as well as sushi to take home afterwards. The cost is $75, and payment is required in advance. The class takes place at Hoshi Sushi Lounge located at 2314 University Avenue. It’s from 1pm to 4pm on Sunday, October 24th.  {Class full.}To make your reservation, or for any questions call 515-369-7253.
